Lentz, Martha (23 SEP 1917 - 17 SEP 1939)

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the St. John’s German Lutheran Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) for Miss Martha Lentz, 22, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lentz, who resided seven miles northwest of Withee, Wis.

New of her death came suddenly and shocked her parents as well as the host of friends who enjoyed her companionship. Miss Lentz was spending the summer in Washington where she was enjoying a visit. Word came Sunday that she had been accidentally killed when the motorcycle on which she was riding had an accident. Her body will be shipped here from Ellenburg where the accident happened. Besides her parents she leaves to mourn her sudden departure two sisters and three brothers, besides many dear close friends.

Services were conducted at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Withee Saturday afternoon, Sept. 23, for Miss Martha Mary Lentz, 21 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lentz of Withee, who suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident Saturday, Sept. 16, near Ellensburg, Wash.

Miss Lentz, she lived here with her parents until the fall of 1934, had worked in Chicago from that time until last winter when she went to Phoenix, Ariz. About three weeks ago she left Arizona and was enroute to her home, taking the Pacific Coast route, when the accident occurred near Ellensburg. She was taken to a hospital and died Sunday evening.

Martha Mary, was born Sept. 23, 1917, is survived by her parents, William and Natalie Lentz; three brothers, Edmund of Casper Wyo., and Gustave and Robert Lentz of Withee; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Zalewski of Chicago and Mrs. Fred Brosseau of Withee, Wis.
