Awe, Emma #2 (30 APR 1862 - 21 SEP 1939)
Mrs. Emma Awe, nee Borman, was born April 30, 1862 in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc Co., Wis. She passed away after an illness of about a week on Sept. 21st, 1939, a the age of 77 years, 4 months and 21 days.
Mrs. Awe was married to Fred Awe on Oct. 25, 1880, at New Holstein. Immediately after their marriage they came to Clark County, settling on a tract of timberland now known as the Hugo Behringer farm in the town of Green Grove. She made her home on the place until 15 years ago, when she came to dwel with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Schulte in the town of Colby, Wis.
This union was blessed with eight children, six daughters and two sons. Her husband preceded her in death 33 years ago, also one daughter, Mrs. Mary Schroeder. Mrs. Awe was an invalid, confined to the wheel chair for 23 years, and bore her affliction with remarkable patience and resignation.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Charles Schulte of Colby; Mrs. A.W. Schulte of Marathon City; Herman Awe of Owen; Joh Awe of Withee; Mrs. W.L. Domer of Eau Claire; Mrs. Ben Boehnlein of New Holstein; Miss Anna Awe of Eau Claire; and one sister, Mrs. John Awe of Sunnyvale, Calif.; also a brother at New Holstein, Fred Borman. Twenty grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. M.C. Goetsch. Interment was made in the parish cemetery.

Boehnlein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Borman of New Holstein; Mr. and Mrs. James Wilkins of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dahl of Cumberland; Mr. and Mrs. Myron Schulte of Ladysmith; Mr. and Mrs. T. Kippenhan of Greenwood; Mrs. Henry Burmeister of Longwood; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Domer and son of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Art Schulte and daughters of Marathon; Mr. and Mrs. Tewksbury of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. John Awe and daughter of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Herman we and daughters, Arthur Awe, Miss Lydia Awe, Mr. and Mrs. William Awe and son, Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Awe, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Awe and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Awe and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Uno Kolpanen, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Behringer, Mr. and Mrs. Art Schields and son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schroeder, all of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. N. Krebsbach of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. N. Boehnlein of Marytown.
The pallbearers were her grandsons, Myron Schulte, Ruebin Schulte, Rodger Domer, James Boehnlein, Gordon Domer and Walter Fink.
Granddaughters of Mrs. Awe acted as flower girls, being Virginia Awe, Margaret Schulte, BonnaBell Awe, AnnaBell Schulte, Lucille Tewksbury and Alma Schield.

Native of Town Eaton Summonded; Rites Held Today
New Holstein, Wis. - Mr. and Mrs. Ben Boehnlein and sons, James and Jerome and
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Borman were called to Withee by the death of Mrs. Emma Awe
last Thursday night.
Funeral services were to be held today at a Lutheran church near Curtiss, with
interment in the Green Grove cemetery adjoining the church.
Deceased, whose maiden name was Emma Borman, was born April 30, 1862, in Eaton
township, Manitowoc County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Borman. She was
united in marriage to Fred Awe in November, 1881, and the couple moved to Clark
county were they were among the first settlers near Owen. Her husband preceded
her in death May 11, 1906, and a daughter, Mary, passed away in 1916.
Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Charles Schulte of Colby, Mrs. A W. Schulte
of Marathon, Mrs. W. L. Domer of Eau Claire, Miss Emma Awe of Eau Claire and
Mrs. Ben Boehnlein of New Holstein; two sons, John of Withee and Herman of Owen;
one brother, Fred Borman of New Holstein, and one sister, Mrs. John Awe, of San
Jose, Calif.
