Patrie, Clifford H. (19 Dec. 1876 - 14 Dec. 1942)
Clifford H. Patrie, 65, former manager of the Woodland Hotel, Owen, for 28 years, passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Saturday morning, his death resulting from a complication of ailments. He had been a hospital patient since Nov. 28. For the past four years, Mr. Patrie had made his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wing, Marshfield.
Mr. Patrie was born in Quebec, Canada, Dec. 19, 1876. He came to the United States when he was six years old. He was married at Eau Claire, Oct. 8, 1904, to Miss Esther Ann Tufts. Mrs. Patrie having preceded him in death on July 8, 1938. He is survived by the daughter, a grandson, John Franklin Wing, and by seven sisters and a brother.
Requiem High Mass was read at ten a.m. Monday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, the Rev. Francis J. Brockman officiating. Burial was made at Withee, Wis.
Among those who attended the rites from Neillsville were: W. B. Tufts, Judge E. W. Crosby, J. H. Fradette, Otto Weyhmiller, Ed. Kutchera and H. G. Haight.
