Karsten, Christian J. (12 Feb. 1875 - 2 June 1941)
Christian J. Karsten, age 66, died of a stroke at 1:15 o’clock Monday morning at his home in Abbotsford, Wis. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the home and at 2:00 o’clock at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran church, Rev. John Brandt officiating.
The deceased was born in Germany Feb. 12, 1875, and was married in Greenwood May 10, 1902, to Bertha Horn who survives with one daughter, Mrs. Franklin Kraut of Medford, and two sons, Alfred Karsten of Abbotsford and Harry Karsten of Curtiss, Wis. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by a brother, Joseph Karsten of Curtiss, and four grand children.
Mr. Karsten operated a farm five miles west of Abbotsford on Highway 29 until about a year ago when he moved to Abbotsford, Wis. His son, Harry, now operates the farm.
