Neuhaus, Samuel Henry (28 July 1921 - 27 Sept. 1941)
Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. William Neuhaus of Pine Valley township, Clark county, of the drowning of their son, Samuel Henry Neuhaus, age 20 and private first class, in the Cane River near Natchiteches, La., on Saturday.
No details regarding the drowning were received. Pvt. Neuhaus was a member of the Service Company, 128th Infantry, 32nd Division, in which he enlisted at Neillsville about a year ago.
The young man was born on July 28th, 1921, at Colby and he accompanied his parents to the Neillsville community from Augusta about fifteen months ago. Surviving besides his parents are eleven brothers and sisters; Paul of LaCrosse, Arthur, Victor, Calvin, Arnold and Dorothy of Milwaukee, Robert of Camp Wheeler, Ga., Marion, Mildred, Rose and William, at home.
The body arrived at Neillsville on Wednesday with a military escort and military rites will be held at the Schiller Funeral Home.
