Ravey, Walter (21 Apr. 1877 - Oct. 1941)
Funeral services for Walter Ravey, who died at his home in Curtiss at the age of 64 years after a lingering illness caused by cancer, were conducted Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Ravey home and at 2:00 o’clock at the Congregational church in Curtiss, Rev. J. H. Rostad officiating and internment was made in the Pine Valley cemetery. Pall bearers were Paul Schultz, Irvin Goessel, Reinhardt Klocke, Arthur Klocke, L. Smiley and Emmet Hawks.
The deceased was born in Waupaca county on April 21, 1877, and was married in 1908 to Miss Nellie Hamblin. For the past 33 years he made his home on a farm three miles north of Curtiss in the town of Hoard.
Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Roder of Chippewa Falls, two sons, John Ravey, a teacher in Abbotsford, Wis., and Henry Ravey at home. Also three brothers and five sisters, Clarence of Unity, Lawrence of Oshkosh, Robert of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Gladys Racon of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. May Miller of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Gustav Heimbach, Mrs. Ben Stevens and Mrs. G. Mitchell, all of Manawa.
