Johnson, Celia Mabel (Marriage - 14 Nov. 1941)
Miss Celia Mabel Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Lizzie Johnson of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Alvin G. Wiedenhoeft, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wiedenhoeft of Colby, were united in marriage on Friday, November 14th, at 3:30 P.M. at the First English Lutheran church at Grand Rapids, Minn., Rev. Von Husen reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Clarence Wiedenhoeft was matron of honor and Sadie Marie Johnson, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Clarence Wiedenhoeft, and Harvey Johnson, the bride’s brother.
The bride was attired in a becoming soldier blue wool crepe street dress and her corsage bouquet consisted of white chrysanthemums. Mrs. Wiedenhoeft wore a dress of teal blue wool crepe and the bridesmaid wore a dress of brown wool crepe. The corsage bouquet of both consisted of yellow and white chrysanthemums.
A wedding dinner was given at the home of the bride at 6:30 P.M. On their return, a large reception was given on Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at the home of the groom’s parents for the immediate family and relatives. In the evening a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion which was largely attended by relatives and friends.
The couple are at home in Colby, Wis.
