Tesmer, John (17 July 1865 - Nov. 1941)

Funeral services for John Tesmer, age 66, a former resident of Colby, were held Friday afternoon at Fall Creek. The deceased was found dead at the foot of a sandstone cliff near Eau Claire and it is believed he fell over the 70-foot cliff while hunting in the woods. He was visiting a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Miller, at Eau Claire.

Mr. Tesmer was born at Forestville, Door county, on July 17th, 1865, and was married to Louisa Feind on October 16, 1900. He and his family lived in Colby until a few years ago when they moved to Fall Creek.

Surviving are his widow and four children - Richard and Arlo Tesmer of West Allis, Mrs. Arthur Miller of Eau Claire and Mrs. Evelyn Biesecker of LaCrosse. Also five sisters and two brothers - Mrs. Bertha Dahlke of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Gusta Olson of Abbotsford, Wis., Mrs. John Pribnow and Mrs. Conrad Orth of Colby, Mrs. Minnie Fricke of Curtiss, Paul Tesmer of Colby, Wis., and Herman Tesmer of Greenwood.
