Blair, Ledia (10 NOV 1873 - 16 NOV 1939)
Funeral services for Mrs. Ledia Fortier Blair, age 66, who passed away on Nov. 16, 1939, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Grant, at Greensboro, N.C., were held from the Congregational Church at Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 21, Rev. J.H. Rostad officiated at the rites and burial was made in the family lot at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Blair was born at Dorchester, Wis., Nov. 10, 1873. She grew to womanhood in Curtiss and was married to Jean Fortier in 1900. The family lived in Chicago, St. Paul and Seattle, and later in Curtiss, Wis.
She was married to J. Blair in 1914, who preceded her in death. She left this community about 20 years ago.
Mrs. Blair leaves to mourn five sons and one daughter. The sons are Jean Fortier of Marinette, Orville Fortier of Santa Rosa, Calif., Walter and Lee Fortier of Salt Lake City, Utah, Arthur Fortier of Iron Mountain, Mich., and daughter, Alice (Mrs. Joe Grant) of Greensboro, N.C., all of whom were present at the funeral. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Tom Beman of Albany, Calif., Mrs. David Norlien of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Harry Horn of Oconomowoc. The latter being present at the funeral, The cousins, J.R. West and J.A. West of St. Paul, Minn., also attended the funeral.
Pallbearers were Fred Laabs, Fred Machlet, Fred Richter, Frank Matthias, Frank Tonn and Grant Herrick.
The beautiful floral tributes were in charge of Mrs. Stella Brady, Miss Beulah Brady, Mrs. Fred Pudlas, Mrs. Grant Herrick and Mrs. Amelia Neitsch. A quartet composed of Rev. and Mrs. J.H. Rostad, Mrs. Alfred Thompson and Robert Green, sang three hymns and Mrs. Leland Smiley presided at the organ.
The deceased was a faithful Christian, a member of the Congregational Church, the Royal Neighbors and the Order of Eastern Start lodges.
A daughter, Cecile, preceded her in death in 1913
