Wescott, Waldo V. (4 OCT 1883 - 30 NOV 1939)
Waldo V. Wescott, a former resident of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the hospital at Park Falls after a short illness a weed ago today.
He was the only son of the late Charles J. Wescott and Sarah Wescott, early pioneers of Shawano. He was born Oct. 4, 1883, and was 56 years of age. Waldo had been a resident of Owen for about 17 years, was employed at the Krom clothing store and the Woodland Hotel. About 16 months ago, after the sale of the hotel, he took a position with the Grand View Hotel in Phillips. He was unmarried, and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sarah Wescott of Oshkosh, a sister, Josie Day of Eau Claire, and one nephew. Many other relatives reside at Shawano.
The remains were taken to Eau Claire where Masonic services were held on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Hoover Memorial Chapel and interment was in lake View Cemetery.
During the many years that Waldo was a resident of this city he acquired many true and loyal friends. His pleasing personality combine with his humor made him a desirous companion. His many friends in the city were shocked to hear of his sudden passing.
