Gardner, Lucille (20 DEC 1939)

Two prominent young people of this community were joined in wedlock at two o’clock p.m. on Dec. 20, 1939, when Miss Lucille Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gardner of the Town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.), and Donald Sommers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Sommers of the Town of Green Grove (Clark Co.) exchanged vows.

The ceremony was performed in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Loyal with the Rev. Langholz of Loyal performing the service.

Miss Gardner wore a dress of white satin with a traca veil and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Her bridesmaids were her sister, Lorea, and Verna Zuege, who wore gowns of floor length pink and light blue moray taffeta respectively, and wore large corsages of pink carnations.

The groom was attended by his brother, Vernon, and Hubert Glenzer. The groom and his attendants wore dress suits of dark green with a pin stripe running through them.

After the service the bridal party enjoyed a large reception held for their many friends and relatives at the home of the bride’s parents which was beautifully decorated with white, blue and rose streamers.

The Owen Enterprise joins with the young couple’s many friends in sincerely wishing them the utmost of happiness for a long wedded life.
