Gronek, Marie #2 (3 JUL 1858 - 24 JAN 1940)
Marie Pietszak, 81 years, 6 months and 21 days, died suddenly on Wednesday morning, Jan. 24, 1940, at the home of her son, Stanley, in the Town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.). Deceased was born in Poland on July 3, 1858. She moved to America with her husband and family in 1888, residing for 12 years in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to Withee in 1900, spending the last 39 years in the vicinity of Withee, farming.
She was united in marriage to Stanley Gronek in Poland in September 1874. She leaves four daughters and one son, Francis Pachowski of Withee, Miss Minnie Gronek, Rose Ciszewski, and Marie Adamczyk of Chicago; and Stanley Gronek of Withee, Wis. Also two brothers, Frank Pietszak of Withee and Albert Pietszak of Chicago.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Thomas Adamiak at St. Hedwig’s Church on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 10:00 a.m., burial being made in the parish cemetery. She belonged to the Sisters Rosary Society. She also leaves 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1936.
The pallbearers were Martin Rogalski, Walter Milewski, John Koperski, Paul Konieczny, Adam Wojt and Albert Hodorowski.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral sere Mrs. Rose Ciszewski, Mrs. Marie Adamczyk and Albert Pietszak, of Chicago.
