Schmitt, Lucille A. (February 18, 1919 - October 27, 2007)
Lucille A. Schmitt, age 88, of Cadott, WI, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls with family at her side.
Lucille was born on February 18, 1919, the daughter of Emil and Cora (Hangartner) Wingad in Eau Claire, WI. She was raised in Eau Claire. Lucille worked as a beautician when she met Virgil Schmitt. They were united in marriage on February 27, 1943 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Following marriage she was a homemaker. They moved to Cadott where they owned and operated the Cadott Bakery.
Lucille was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and was a member of St. Anne’s Circle.
She loved painting, sewing, crafts, crocheting, knitting and attending church.
Lucille is survived by and was a devoted wife of Virgil Schmitt, children: Michael (Connie) Schmitt of Park Falls, WI, Thomas (Barb) Schmitt of Eau Claire, WI, Daniel (Carol) Schmitt of Cadott, WI, Patrick (Linda) Schmitt of Eau Claire, WI, Jonas (Glenda) Schmitt of Evansville, WI, and Kathleen (Lyle) Bourget of Two Rivers, WI, and fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters in infancy.
A funeral Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott with Father Donald Bauer officiating. Interment was at St. Rose Cemetery, Town of Sigel. Family and friends called from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. and also Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott.
