NEILLSVILLE -- Kevin Carl Opelt, 52, of Neillsville, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville, Wis. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with an 8 p.m. prayer service, Wednesday, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and again from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Kevin Carl Opelt was born Oct. 10, 1955, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Burfeind) Opelt. After his schooling, Kevin helped on the family farm and was employed with Opelt's Sand & Gravel in Neillsville, operating the bulldozer. He was united in marriage to Donna Lindner on Oct. 2, 1982, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; seven children, Bridget (Ben) Rakovec, Loyal, Eric, Kelly, Holly, Sheila, Jillayne and Joshua, all of Neillsville; two grandchildren; his father, Kenneth Opelt, Neillsville; 11 siblings, Steven (Pixie) Opelt, Neillsville, Eugene (Carol) Opelt, Neillsville, Gayle (Becky) Opelt, Grants Pass, Ore., Alan Opelt, Darlene (Joel) Zschernitz, Rollin (Gail) Opelt, Dawn (Greg) Thoma, Russell (Jill) Opelt, Darla (Gary) Fitzmaurice, Douglas (Lori) Opelt, all of Neillsville, and Donna (Paul) McDonough of Plum City.
