Swenson, Phyllis (2 JUN 1940)

Sunday, June 2, 1940, at high noon at the home of the bride’s parents a very pretty wedding was solemnized when Miss Phyllis Swenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swenson of the Town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Francis Conrad, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Conrad of Melrose. Rev. E.G. Pfeiffer, pastor of the Greenwood Reformed Church, officiated.

The bride was attired in a white lace over white satin and wore a finger tip veil and carried an old fashioned bouquet of roses and swansonia. She was attended by Miss Vera Conrad, sister of the groom, as bridesmaid, who wore a yellow net gown with yellow accessories and a corsage of sweet peas and roses.

The groom wore a white suit and was attended by his brother, Harold, as best man, who wore a gray suit.

A wedding dinner was served at the Lyon Restaurant in Greenwood following the ceremony to only immediate relatives.

The bride graduated from the Greenwood High School with the class of 1938 and the groom graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1936 and is employed by the Department of Agriculture and Markets at Flemington, N.J. The young couple left Thursday for Flemington, where they will make their home.

A reception was held Tuesday evening for them at Galesville. The Enterprise joins their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a happy married life.
