Luchterhand, Julius (11 Jan. 1867 - 24 Apr. 1942)
Julius Luchterhand, prominent retired Unity farmer since 1888, died Friday night at the age of 75 years at St. Joseph’s hospital at Marshfield, cerebral hemorrhage being the cause of his death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and burial was made in the Brighton cemetery.
Mr. Luchterhand was born on January 11, 1867, and was married in Loyal to Miss Doris Wiede in 1890. He moved onto a farm west of Unity in 1888 and lived there until 1916 when he moved to the village of Unity and resided there since. His wife preceded him in death two months ago, on February 23rd. A son, four sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Louise of Chicago Heights, Ill., and two brothers and two sisters - Frank and Albert of Loyal, Mrs. Walter Lump of Bloomer and Mrs. Robert Matee of Halest, Canada.
