Atkins, John H. (1 Oct. 1875 - 25 Apr. 1942)
John H. Atkins, age 66, a former town of Hull farmer who lived at Marathon City the past two and one half years, died Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock in Marathon. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Methodist church in Colby, Rev. A. C. Riley officiating, and burial was made in the Colby cemetery.
Mr. Atkins was born in Iowa on October 1, 1875, and was married in Black River Falls on February 12, 1906, to Miss Adeline Laib. The couple resided on a farm near there four years and then moved onto a farm in the town of Hull in 1910. In December, 1939, they moved to Marathon. Survivors are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Hilton Rusch of Marathon; two sons, Clarence Atkins of Anoka, Minn.; and Harold Atkins at home, and a brother, Marion Atkins who lives in Idaho.
