Martens, Dorthra (Marriage - 17 June 1942)
Dorthra Martens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Martens of Loyal, Wis., and Erland Westberg, son of Mrs. Anna Westberg, were united in marriage Wednesday, June 17th, at 9:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s parsonage at Colby, Rev. J. L. Lang reading the marriage ceremony. Delores Westberg, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and Jean Martens, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by William Martens, brother of the bride, and Harold Rogstad.
The bride was attired in a dress of white silk lace over satin, fingertip veil crowned with seed pearls and edged with chantilly lace and her bouquet consisted of white roses and ferns. The maid of honor wore a yellow satin dress with lace inserts and her bouquet consisted of Rueben lilies. The bridesmaid wore a dress of aqua blue and her bouquet consisted of carnations and sweet peas.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, at Loyal, the home being decorated with aqua blue, yellow and white streamers for the occasion.
The newlyweds made a wedding trip to Chicago and will be at home after June 22nd on the groom’s farm near Colby, Wis.
In the evening, a wedding dance was held at the Country ballroom near Marshfield.
The bride was formerly employed at the Winebrenner shoe factory.
