Vander Hyden, Susan (21 May 1854 - 12 Sept. 1942)
Mrs. John Vander Hyden, for many years a resident of Colby, Wis., and vicinity, died at Eau Claire Saturday morning at the age of 88 years. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock at St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Eau Claire and burial was made in the Colby cemetery. Rev. L. J. Lang of Colby officiated at the burial service.
Mrs. Vander Hyden, the former Miss Susan Schuh, was born on May 21, 1854, in Slinger. She and her husband lived on a farm east of Colby for many years. Her husband died in 1917. In 1918 Mrs. Vander Hyden moved to Eau Claire where she made her home with her daughter.
Surviving relatives are her daughter, Mrs. George Rafferty of Eau Claire, two sisters, Mrs. Anton Riedl of New London and Mrs. Eva Riedl of Appleton, and two brothers, Richard Schuh of New London and Anton Schuh of Hortonville.
