Herrmann, Ruth Anna (Marriage - 22 Aug. 1942)

Miss Ruth Anna Herrmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Herrmann of Colby, Wis., and Mr. Arnold E. Ruprich, son of Mr. Joe Ruprich of Dorchester, Wis., were united in marriage at the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby Saturday, Aug. 22, at 4:30 o’clock in the afternoon, Rev. Paul Franzmeier of Greenwood reading the marriage ceremony. The altar was decorated with baskets of gladiolas and mixed flowers. Mrs. George Miller, organist, played the wedding march from Lohengrin during the double ring ceremony. A solo, "O Promise Me," was sung by the bride’s cousin, Eugene Herrmann of Milwaukee. The girl’s choir sang, "Who Will Our Pilot Be."

The bride was attired in a dress of white silk marquisette with sweetheart neckline, long frill sleeves shirred at the wrist. Her long veil of silk illusion was edged with chantilly lace and seed pearl crown. Her bouquet consisted of white roses and her only jewelry was a three strand pearl necklace.

The maid of honor, Miss Lorinda Horn of Greenwood, cousin of the bride, and bridesmaids, Miss Irene Herrmann, sister of the bride, and Miss Hildegarde Ruprich of Dorchester, Wis., sister of the groom, were all dressed alike in dresses of sheer blue ninon with lace insertions and blue floral head bands with seed pearls. Their wrist corsages consisted of roses and sweet peas. They wore two strand necklaces, gifts of the bride.

The groom was attended by Edward Herrmann, Alvin Ruprich and Kenneth Herrmann. Ushers at the church were Richard Herrmann and Rudy Tauchen.

Dinner was served at the parish hall at 5:00 o’clock for 70 guests. A large three tiered wedding cake centered the bridal table. The hall was decorated with blue and white streamers and white wedding bells. A reception at the home of the bride’s parents followed the dinner. The home was decorated with mixed garden flowers.

A wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion in the evening which was largely attended by relatives and friends.

The couple will make their home on the groom’s farm near Dorchester, Wis.
