WITHEE - John J. Zaidel, 78, Withee, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, Wis.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, Wis. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of services.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

John Zaidel

WITHEE - John Zaidel, 78, of Withee passed away Nov. 26, 2005, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Dec. 1, 2005, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, Wis. A funeral prayer service will follow at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

John was born April 5, 1927, in Thorp to Joseph and Anna (Kramasz) Zaidel. He married Jean Liszewski on May 9, 1951. They farmed in the Thorp area for 23 years. While farming he also worked for the town of Withee, grading and plowing roads. He retired from farming and moved to the Withee area. He then worked for the town of Hixon and Will's Implement. He then was employed as a custodian for the Owen -Withee School district and later drove school bus for them for many years before fully retiring.

He is survived by his wife, Jean of Withee; three children, Robert (Virginia) Zaidel, Owen, Carol (Richard) Rode, Withee, and Nancy (Greg) Bender, Withee; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Kramer, St. Charles, Ill., and Mary Berberich, Naperville, Ill.
