William H. Dunow
OWEN -- William H. Dunow, 65, Owen, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at his town of Hoard residence under the loving care of his family and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Funeral services for William will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, Wis. Burial will be in St. Paul's Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery in Curtiss, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, Wis.
William Henry Dunow was born Aug. 19,1940, in the town of Hoard, rural Owen, the son of Henry and Virginia (Sheets) Dunow. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years at Camp Pendelton in the military police and heavy equipment division. On Nov. 4, 1961, Bill and Judy Beisner were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby, Wis. They farmed in the town of Hoard for 44 years, and Bill worked for the town of Hoard as a patrolman. He served as town chairman for 14 years and currently was a town of Hoard supervisor. Bill also worked as a part-time rural mail carrier for Owen, Wis.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. After his retirement in 2002, Bill's pride and joy was being crew chief for his son, Donald, who races in the mini stock division at Marshfield Super Speedway. His special love was sharing with his children and grandchildren.
Bill will be lovingly missed by his wife of 44 years, Judy Dunow of Owen; children, Patrick Dunow of Abbotsford, Renee (Brian Rickert) Dunow of Medford, Carolyn Dunow of Burnsville, Minn., Donald Dunow of Boyd and Jeanne (Jeremy Totzke) Dunow of Abbotsford; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; a brother, Allan (Diane) Dunow of Crowley, Texas; a sister, Beverly Grilc of Milwaukee; and his canine buddy, Barney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Dunow.
