Charles "Chuck" Jakel, 51, formerly of Dorchester, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Charles 'Chuck' Jakel

Charles "Chuck" Jakel, 51 of New Lisbon, formerly of Curtiss, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford, Wis.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Curtiss, Wis. The Rev. Paul Gitter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jim Schiszik, John Rattunde, Donny Feddick, Steve Katka, Joe Frane and Allen Frane.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home. There will be a prayer service Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Sister Gertrude Rolfes officiating.

Chuck was born May 27, 1954, to Carl and Kathryn (Prohaska) Jakel. He graduated from Abbotsford, Wis. High School in 1972. Chuck and Karen Frane were married May 7, 1976. He worked for Hutman Heating until 1987 and then was a truck driver for Roehl Transport for the past 18 years. He enjoyed hunting, camping and riding his Harley Davidson.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Karen Jakel of New Lisbon; his children, Jeremy Jakel of Camp Lejune, N.C., and his children, Madison and Zachary, Steven (Lori) Jakel and their child, Skye, and Heidi ( fiance, Ray Wopat) Jakel and her child, Tenley of Elroy; his father, Carl Jakel of Curtiss; his brothers and sisters, Michael (Sandra) Jakel of Dorchester, James (Jennifer) Jakel of Abbotsford, Paul (Jean) Jakel of Abbotsford, Kathryn (Steven) Katka of Ada, Minn., Thomas (Rhonda) Jakel of Curtiss and Mary (Donald) Feddick of Abbotsford; his mother- and father-in-law, Donald and Mary Ann Frane of Colby; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Gene and Barbara Frane of Rhinelander, Gary and Yvonne Frane of Willard, Allen and Carol Frane of Colby, Roger and Laura Frane of Curtiss, Dan and Dar Schneider of Stratford, Jim and Janice Kilty of Spencer, Julie Ludwig of Schofield and Joe and Kathy Clement of Abbotsford; 38 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Jakel.
