Lenzskow, Carl (6 Aug. 1859 - 8 Feb. 1943)

Carl Lenzskow, 83 year old resident of Clark County for 46 years, passed away at the home of his son, Herman, at the home farm in the town of Grant, at 6:45, Feb. 8, 1943. Mr. Lenzskow had been ill for about six months.

The departed was born in Germany August 6, 1856, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. John Lenzskow. He was united in marriage to Emelia Bartlett in his native land, the couple coming to America in 1888. He is survived by his wife and their only son, Herman.

When Mr. Lenzskow first came to this country, at the age of 28, he settled in Ladysmith where he was employed on the railroad for a time before purchasing a farm in the town of Grant, Clark County, where he farmed for twenty years. He and his wife then moved to the city of Neillsville, purchasing property on the outskirts where they farmed on a smaller scale until failing health forced to them to retire. About four months ago the couple went to the son’s home where he was cared for until his death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., February 11, at the Jaster Funeral Home, and at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. William A. Baumann officiating. The pallbearers were Rudolph Wegner, Herman Pagenkopf, Ernest Junchen, Fred Stelloh, August Arndt and Ed. Lloyd.
