Tuesday evening the near neighbors gave Harry Owens a birthday surprise party. Five hundred was played and a nice lunch served.
Joe Zdun returned from Eau Claire where he had a medical examination. He must stop all physical labor as high blood pressure has caused a serious heart ailment. Emil Zdun is running the milk route now.
Bernard Kuhn had purchased a new milking machine.
The Albert Zank family of Neillsville did business at Shortville Monday and were guests at Arthur Williams’ in the afternoon.
The Oliver Williams family visited at the Fred Palmer home in Levis one day last week.
We are cordially inviting everyone to attend out Red Cross War Fund meeting at the town hall **Rest cut off. ***
