Nine Years ago - March 15, 1934
Campbell hotel at Merrillan, one of the land marks in that village, razed by fire at 2 a.m. yesterday.
J. W. Kearns store moved this week to their own building two doors south of the present location.
A 9 ½ pound boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Albrecht on the birthday anniversary of Grandpa Jos. Frei, which is also the 26th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Frei.
Thirty-one years ago - March 14, 1912
Death of William Zassenhaus, register of deeds in Clark County from 1889 to 1897, at his home at Colby March 9, of apoplexy. He was for many years one of the county’s leading citizens.
Other dates recorded in this issue are: Bernhardt Fiedler, Mrs. Anna Rosa Garbusch, Mrs. John Servaty, Sr., Ernest Fuller, Jessie Belle Mund and Mary Skoda.
Ed. Miller and family arrived last week from Hillsboro and took possession of the Maxwell farm.
