Martens, Mrs. Nina (Marriage - 6 April 1943)

Mrs. Nina Martens of Neillsville, daughter of George Squire, Sr., Humbird, and Raymond Schlinsog, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schlinsog, Granton, were married at four p.m., April 6, Rev. J. Buth of Granton performing the double-ring ceremony.

The bride was dressed in a blue silk suit and a pink chiffon blouse, wearing a corsage of sweet peas and carnations. Miss Ursie Schlinsog, wearing a light blue gown and a corsage of sweet peas and carnations, and Robert Prust attended the couple.

A reception was held at the Ernest Schlinsog home where 16 guests gathered after the ceremony. The color scheme used in the home and table decorations was pink and blue.

The bride, whose home formerly was in the village of Humbird, attended high school there. Mr. Schlinsog prepared himself for the vocation of farming at the college of agriculture, University of Wisconsin and by practical experience which he received upon the home farm under his father’s guidance since he was a young boy.

The couple will make their home on a farm near Granton.

Among the guests in attendance at the wedding were the Rev. and Mrs. J. Buth and daughter, Miss Lydia Buth, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cole, Miss Marian Cole, Mr. and Mrs. John Prust, Dorothy Prust, Harold Prust, Miss Gerty Beilke, Robert Prust and Ursie Schlinsog.
