Liskow, Anna (16 Jan. 1869 - 5 April 1943)

Mrs. August Liskow, 74, passed away at 10 a.m. April 5 after an illness of about ten days, though her health had been declining for some time.

Mrs. Liskow was born in Watertown, Wis., Jan. 16, 1869, to Mr. and Mrs. August May. For forty-two years she had been a resident of Clark County.

Her marriage to August Liskow took place Feb. 28, 1889, at Watertown, Wis., Mr. Liskow preceding her in death. They were the parents of five children, one of whom has passed away. The surviving children are: Emma, Mrs. Frank Gloff, and Edward Liskow, Little Valley, N. Y.; Hattie, Mrs. Ray Kutsche, and Otto Liskow, Neillsville, Wis. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Henry Reick, Watertown, Wis., and by 11 grandchildren.

A brother and a sister, also one half brother and a half sister, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Liskow’s lifetime, until she came to Neillsville to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Sheriff and Mrs. Ray Kutsche, had always been spent on farms. Beside her household duties and the care of her family, she assumed the lighter work on the farm, such as raising and caring for chickens and a garden. While thus busily engaged, she found time, also, to attend church services and to instruct her children to likewise respect the teachings of the Lutheran faith. Her love for the beauties of life expressed themselves in the flowers which she scattered here and there about her house and garden and in the windows of the home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April nine, at the Jaster Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m., followed by services at St. John’s Lutheran church at 2 p.m. The Rev. William A. Baumann will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
