Delano, Silas Hardy (2 March 1853 - 18 April 1943)

Silas Hardy Delano was born to Abram and Sarah Delano at Bangor, Maine, March 2nd, 1853. He passed away at Greenwood, Wis., April 18th, 1943, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 16 days, after a brief illness.

He came to Iowa with his parents when a small child, living there until 1878. He then came to Clark County where he purchased a farm, near Christie, which remained his home until 1886, when he went to Humbird. Since that time, with the exception of the past year, Humbird had been his home.

He leaves his wife and three daughters: Mrs. C. E. Bollom, Neillsville; Mrs. Ida Hayden, Wautoma, Wis., and Mrs. Irene Travis, Chicago, and by three step-daughters, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held Wednesday, April 21, at the Methodist Church of Humbird, the Rev. Alex Abbott of Greenwood officiating. The body was laid at rest in the Mentor Cemetery.
