Mattick, John F. (23 Sept. 1850 - 19 May 1943)
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Zink Funeral Home at Abbotsford for John F. Mattick, age 92, who died of old age complications on May 19th at his home in the town of Mayville. Burial was made in the Colby cemetery, Rev. G. E. Griffith officiating.
Mr. Mattick was born in Germany on Sept. 23, 1850, and was married in Milwaukee on Feb. 8, 1890, to Gustine Haberman who preceded him in death in 1929. Mr. Mattick came to America in 1877, settling in Milwaukee and later moved to Abbotsford where he lived until 1911 while working on the railroad. He then moved onto a farm in the town of Mayville.
Surviving are three sons - Ewald, Leo and Henry, all at home. Three children preceded him in death - one in infancy, one, Paul, was killed in a railroad accident in 1911, and William who died in 1936.
