Oelke, Gustav (8 Feb. 1861 - 6 June 1943)
Funeral services for Gustav Oelke, 82, formerly of Abbotsford, who died June 6th, after a week’s illness at Hartford, where he had lived several years, were held Thursday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wis., and the Christ Lutheran church in Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. John Brandt officiated and burial was in the Abbotsford cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Bernitt, Gust Hintz, Ed Hunberger and Ernest Laper of Abbotsford, Wis., and John Riemer and Oscar Pueschner of Stetsonville.
Mr. Oelke was born February 8, 1861, in Germany and emigtated to America in 18?0. He was married in Richland Center. His wife, Pauline, died June 5, 1935. For 44 years he was engaged in farming before he retired in 1926. Surviving are six children, Mrs. Freda Nikolay, Baraboo, Bernard Oelke, Ableman, Herman Oelke, Richland Center, Edward and Henry Oelke of Stetsonville, and Mrs. Rena Lueth of Hartford; two sisters, a brother, and nine grand children.
