Meyer, Fred H. (7 Sept. 1884 - 22 June 1943)
Fred H. Meyer died at his farm home in the town of Colby Tuesday afternoon, June 22, at 3:00 P.M. at the age of 58 years, a heart ailment being the cause of his departure. Funeral services will be held at the family home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock and at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church at Green Grove at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating. Internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.
The deceased, a son of Fred L. Meyer and Dorothy Stacker, was born on Sept. 7, 1884, near Appleton. He came to this community in 1914 when he purchased the present farm in the town of Colby, four miles west of the city of Colby, Wis. He was married to Alfrieda Wilbert at Dorchester on Feb. 9, 1915. He was ill the past two years.
Surviving are his widow and one son, Elmer, at home. Also four brothers, Otto Meyer of Black Creek, Wis., Albert Meyer of Longwood, Chas. Meyer of Shawano and Henry Meyer of Appleton and one grand son.
The deceased was a good Christian, an indulgent husband and father, and of an industrious and congenial disposition. He was well-liked by all who knew him.
