Fomer Colbyite Fatally Injured in Scaffold Fall

John Peter Schueller, who would have been 70 years old Sunday, June 20th, fell from a scaffolding Saturday, June 19, at Lemoore Army Flying School, California, where he was employed as a civilian carpenter, and died at 9:30 p.m., on that day at the base hospital. Schueller suffered a fractured skull in the fall.

Schueller was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and grew to manhood on what is now the Rudolph Wiersig farm in the town of Hull, Wis. He moved to Visalia, California, with his parents in 1906 where his father had been in the hardware, real estate and insurance business.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clementine Schueller, who had been visiting in Denver, Colorado, with a daughter, Miss Clementine Schueller at the time; four daughters, Miss Schueller, Mrs. Rose Stevenson of Alhambra, Calif., Mrs. Clara Ball and Mrs. Marie Linhares of Modesto, Calif.; two sons, Pfc. George Schueller, with the marines at San Francisco, Cal., and Otto Schueller of San Diego, Calif.; three brothers, Casper Schueller of Berkeley, Calif., Herman Schueller of Camino, Calif., and Joseph O. Schueller of Ivanhoe, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Schlaich of Visalia and Mrs. Clara DuBrutz of Visalia and nine grand children.
