Rienow, Fred C. #2 (11 Jan. 1865 - 20 Aug. 1943)

Fred C. Rienow died at his home in Colby Friday noon, at 12:30, complications due to old age, followed by an illness of several years, being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the Lulloff Funeral Home, where the body had been lying in state, and at 2:00 o’clock at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Gust Franz, Paul Rucks, John Baumgartner, Fred Hutton, Will Roth, Ernest Miller.

Mr. Rienow was born in Germany on Jan. 11, 1865, thus reaching the age of 78 years, seven months and nine days. He came to the United States when a young man and made his home near Mayville, Wis. He was married to Anna Wellnitz on June 18, 1916, at Spencer where he conducted a general store. He also worked as a lumberman in the north woods for many years. For the past six years he and his family made their home in Colby, Wis.

Surviving are his widow and their daughter, Mrs. Junior E. (Doris) Tesmer of Colby, Wis., and six children by a former marriage - William Rienow and Mrs. Charles Brehm of Marshfield, Mrs. Cora Deerling of Wausau, Leonard Rienow of Park Falls, Fred J. Rienow of Eagle River and Mrs. Evelyn Williams of Waukesha. Also one half brother, Herman Ihlenfeldt, and one half-sister, Mrs. Etta Dreichel, of Marshfield. One son, Harry, preceded his father in death.

The deceased was a good Christian, an indulgent husband and father, honest in all his dealings and will be missed by all who knew him.

Mrs. Etta Dreichel and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ihlenfeldt of Marshfield, Mrs. Norbert Loch and Miss Ruth Rienow of Green Bay, Mrs. Martha Henning of Beloit, Mrs. Augusta Kind and daughter, Ruth, of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wellnitz, of Janesville, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wellnitz, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wellnitz, of Arpin, Mrs. Geo. Schwantes, Sr., and Carolyn and Billy, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schwantes and Kenneth and Mrs. Ora Schaefer of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Baker and Billy of Stetsonville, Mrs. Geo. Schwantes, Jr., of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kind and children, Alois, Charles and Rio and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Smith of Loyal, Mrs. C. R. Graves and Carolyn of Ladysmith and Mrs. Albert Dreichel and daughter of Marshfield.
