Runge, Hertha (11 June 1884 - 10 Sept. 1943)
Mrs. Charles Runge died Friday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock at the Wisconsin General Hospital in Madison at the age of 59 years following an eye operation performed last Thursday. Funeral services were held at the Charles Runge home in Unity, where the body had been lying in state, Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery.
Mrs. Runge, nee Hertha Schellpffer, was born in Mayville on June 11, 1884. She was married there on Sept. 26th, 1905, to Charles Runge and lived in the vicinity of Unity for 23 years, living on a farm for 19 years before moving to the village of Unity four years ago.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Erna) Machlett, Mrs. Charles (Irene) Shyder and Gertrude Runge, all of the town of Cleveland; one son, Harold Runge of Milan; and two grand daughters. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters - Arthur Schellpffer of Oakland, Walter Schellpffer, Mrs. Olga Dapp and Mrs. Paula Wetzel, all of Mayville.
Preceding her in death were a son at the age of two, her mother two years ago and her father three months ago.
