Koeppen, Herman (6 May 1886 - 16 Sept. 1943)

Herman Koeppen died at the age of 57 years, four months and 10 days last Thursday morning at a hospital in Mendota, Wis., diabetes being the cause of his death. He had been ill three years. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Rev. D. Grether, pastor of the First Evangelical and Reformed church, officiating, and internment was made in the Green Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were Norman and Roger Kobs, Leroy Thedem Wesley Frome, Dave Kademan and Wm. Stock.

Mr. Koeppen was not married and he was born in Germany on May 6th, 1886. He came to the United States with his parents when he was three years old, coming directly to this community. He spent most of his life on a farm in the town of Colby, Wis., and moved to the city of Colby a month ago.

Surviving are his father, Karl Koeppen, a brother, Otto Koeppen, and two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Witte and Mrs. August Kobs, all of Colby, Wis. His mother and one brother preceded him in death.
