Tracy Lynn Alger passed away on November 1, 2007, in Shubayshen, Iraq. Visitation was held on November 9, 2007 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Memorial service was held at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek, with burial following at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Cemetery in the Township of Thorp.

Tracy L. Alger was born June 21, 1977. She grew up in Thorp until the age of 11, when she moved to New Auburn. She graduated from Chetek High School in 1995 and from UW-River Falls with a degree in graphic design.

Tracy enjoyed spending time with family, going snowmobiling, eating out, especially at Red Lobster, and barrel racing.

She joined the U. S. Army in January 2006 and arrived at Fort Campbell, KY in January 2007. Tracy was 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, and was decorated with numerous awards. She will be deeply missed.

Tracy is survived by her father Ronald (Cindy) Alger of Thorp; her mother, Pauline Knutson of New Auburn; sisters Tanya Crystal Alger-Leo of Colorado Springs, CO and Crystal Lynn Alger of Thorp; step-brother, Joshua Slagoski of Thorp; paternal grandparents, Richard and Rosie Alger of Thorp; maternal grandmother, Bernice (the late Ted) Symbol of Stanley, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
