Meyer, Charles Mrs. (? - 14 Sept. 1943)

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meyer, pioneers of the town of Colby, passed away at their home in Alderwood Manor, near Seattle, Washington, the former on October 5th and Mrs. Meyer on Sept. 14. Both suffered a stroke and both were ill one week.

Mr. Meyer passed his 81st birthday last March and was born in Fredonia, Wis. Mrs. Meyer is also a native of Wisconsin and the two were married at Fredonia in 1883 and then settled in the town of Colby where they lived for 37 years and where their family of 15 children was born. In 1920, Mr. and Mrs. Meyer, with their two youngest children, moved to Alderwood Manor where they have since made their home.

Surviving are five daughters, Delta Meyer of New York City, Mrs. Fred Hall of Seattle, Wash., Julia Meyer of Alderwood, Mrs. Walter Schuette of Neenah, Wis., and Mrs. Lewis Bailey of Seattle; eight sons, Frank of Colby, George of Ashland, Ben of Chippewa Falls, Edward of Mellen, Walter of Marengo, Richard of Gib Harbor, Wash., Dr. Chas. Meyer of Seattle, Wash., and Lt. Donald Meyer, serving in the army air corps, stationed on Long Island, N.Y.; 47 grand children and 23 great grand children. Mr. Meyer also leaves one brother, Joseph, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Meyer also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Beederwolf and Mrs. Agnes Demler of Wisconsin and two brothers, William and Martin Regner of Wisconsin.
