Zassenhaus, Mary (5 Mar. 1881 - 13 Nov. 1943)
Miss Mary Zassenhaus, age 62, a former resident of the town of Green Grove, died at St. Mary’s Convent in Milwaukee on Saturday, Nov. 13th. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby on Wednesday morning, Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and burial was made in the Colby cemetery. Nephews were pall bearers and were Francis, Joe L., Arnold and Peter Steinwand, Walter Mueller and Frederick Zassenhaus.
The deceased was born in the town of Green Grove on March 5th, 1881, and graduated from Colby, Wis. High School in 1898. After teaching in the Colby Graded School she went to Milwaukee where she was a teacher of speech corrections for 38 years at the normal. Surviving are three sisters and one brother - Mrs. J. F. Steinwand, Mrs. Agnes B. Gay, Clara Zassenhaus and Fred Zassenhaus.
