Bitter, Rosemary (Marriage - 13 Nov. 1943)

St. Bernard’s Catholic church in Abbotsford was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday morning when Miss Rosemary Bitter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bitter of Abbotsford, became the bride of James Beyerl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beyerl of Colby, Wis. Rev. Francis Brockman celebrated the nuptial high mass and performed the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Clarence Dolan was the soloist.

The bride wore a princess gown of white taffeta, with square neckline outlined with seed pearls, long tapered sleeves and a full skirt with circular train. Her three-quarter-length veil, edged with lace, was fastened to a coronet of seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of roses and chrysanthemums. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift of her mother.

Miss Juanita Sybeldon, a student nurse at St. Mary’s hospital school of nursing in Marshfield, and Miss Louise Grumann of Lanoa, who attended as bridesmaids, were indentically attired in gowns of taffeta, with full skirts and shirred bodices. Miss Sybeldon, with her frock of pink, trimmed with blue, wore a blue wreath, and Miss Grumann accented her blue gown with a pink wreath and pink accessories. Both wore shoulder bouquets of pastel flowers.

Aloys Beyerl and Julius Schulz, both of Colby, attended the bridegroom.

Dinner was served to 25 guests at the home of the bride’s parents, which was decorated with pink and white streamers, and in the evening the couple left for a honeymoon in Chicago and Milwaukee. After November 21st, they will be at home to friends at Pine Lawn farm, near Colby, Wis.

Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beyerl and son, Francis, Frank Zettler and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Meyers and children of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Schigley and daughter, Arlene, of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. George Edlebeck of Granton, Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Ray Drexie of Fort Sill, Okla., Miss Eva Marie Berger of Stevens Point, Mrs. Kenneth Kreise of Two Rivers and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rahn of Curtiss, Wis.
