David J. Brecht, 60, Greenwood, died on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Memorial Health Center, Medford. Services were held at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, Wis. The Rev. Andrew Hinwood officiated.

David John Brecht was born on Aug. 29, 1947, to Clarence and Shirley (nee Vogel) Brecht. He married Sandra "Sandy" Staniec on Feb. 22, 2003. He worked for Ruxie Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family, He was a member of the Sportsmen’s Club in Owen and Whitetails Unlimited.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Brecht, Greenwood; his mother, Shirley Brecht, Owen; a daughter, Lacey (Randy Ladewig) Brecht, Greenwood; a sister, Molly Hartman, Wabasha, Minn.; three brothers, Kent (Chris) Brecht, Owen, Bruce (Shirley) Brecht, Withee, and Todd Brecht, Oregon, Wis.
