Mickett, Mary E. #2 (11 MAR 1916 - 21 NOV 2007)
Mary E. Mickett, 91, formerly of Thorp, passed away peacefully at the Columbia Health Care Center, Wyocena, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, in the presence of her daughter, Dorothy. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Thorp Funeral Home. Burial followed in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
Mary E. Bolf was born on March 11, 1916, in Gallup, New Mexico, to Matthew and Kathryn (nee Briski) Bolf. She married William Mickett on Oct. 18, 1933, at St. Hedwig’s Church, Thorp. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1993. They lived and farmed in the Greenwood area until 1988, when they retired and moved to Thorp. She had lived at Morgan Plaza Retirement Center, Thorp. She then lived with her daughter, Dorothy, in Pardeeville, for seven years, and at the Columbia Health Care Center, Wyocena, until she passed away. She loved to dance, especially polka, and going to the casino.
Survivors include her children, Alice (Claude) Benzschawel, Thorp, Beverly (Eugene) Benzschawel, Thorp, William (Mildred) Mickett Jr., Stanley, Dorothy Piont, Pardeeville, and Robert (Nancy) Mickett, Greenwood; one brother, John (Rita) Bolf, Chicago; two sisters, Ann Nalezny, Chicago, and Dolores (William) Benzschawel, Owen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one grandson, Keith Benzschawel; three brothers, Anthony, Matthew, and Michel; two sisters, Kathryn and Frances (Stanley) Zabski; and her son-in-law, Frank Piont.
Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Homes, Portage, assisted the family.
