Lepke, Irene (Marriage - 21 July 1943)
Miss Irene Lepke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lepke, 243 South Court, Street, Neillsville, and William Hemp, son of Mrs. Louis Hemp, 251 South Court Street, Neillsville, were united in marriage at the St. John’s Lutheran parsonage, Wednesday, July 21, 1943, at 4 p.m., the Rev. William Baumann reading the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was attired in brown alpaca suit with accessories to match, and her corsage was rubrum lilies and baby’s breath. Miss Eva Clouse, maid of honor and a friend of the bride wore a navy blue mesh suit and a corsage of white carnations.
The groom’s suit was brown, and the best man, Marvin Hemp, brother of the groom, wore a blue suit. Both had pink carnations.
A wedding reception was given for eight guest at the Merchant’s hotel at 6:30 p.m.
The couple will spend five days at Hatfield at the Hemp Cottage.
Mrs. Hemp was graduated from the Neillsville High School in 1932 and also took one year of teacher’s training. The groom was graduated from the local high school in 1934 and took a course at the University at St. Louis, Mo., and is now employed as a radio instructor in the Army Air Force, Truaz Field, Madison, Wis.
