Washburn - by Mrs. Ralph Short

Our boys are leaving the army camps quite rapidly and arriving at their destinations overseas. Flight Office Douglas Hagie recently arrived somewhere in Australia with his bomber crew. Word was received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Hoagie, Shortville. Pvt. William Reinart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Reinart, Sr., arrived somewhere in England and Pvt. Paul Krutch, son of Mrs. Lydia Krutch, arrived safely somewhere in England. Word was received by their parents. These boys all attended Shortville School in their school days.

Threshing machines are all around us and the threshing will soon be done for another year again.

Mrs. Schroeder will entertain the Ladies’ Aid Friday, Aug. 27, instead of this week. It has been postponed on account of threshing.

Mr. and Mrs. Jess Wilding were: *Rest cut off.
