Laabs, Hilda #2 (26 Apr. 1910 - 25 Jan. 1944)
Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda Laabs of Abbotsford, Wisconsin who died of complications at the Marshfield hospital were held at the West Side church at Greenwood on Monday, Jan. 31, Rev. Fresenberg conducting the services, and internment was made in the West Side cemetery. Pall bearers were Cyril Rakovec, Arno Miller, Tony Goser, Harry Leibzeit, George Gemneke and Geo. Saliskar. Mrs. Laabs, who had been ill at her home in Abbotsford, was taken to the home of her father, John Abel, at Greenwood, on January 12th, and, the following Monday was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital at Marshfield where she died on January 25th.
Mrs. Laabs was born on April 26, 1910, in the town of Eaton, Clark county, and was married to William Laabs at Greenwood in September, 1929.
Surviving are her two sons, Lawrence, age 13, and Lester, age 10, now at Greenwood, her father, John Abel, one brother, Gilbert, and a sister, Mrs. Norbert Juster, all of the town of Warner, near Greenwood. Her mother preceded her in death on March 17, 1938.
