Busche, Martha (28 Oct. 1848 - 1 Mar. 1944)
Mrs. Martha Busche, who had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Herman Riese, of Unity, Rt. 1, the past five years, died at 3:15 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 1st. Funeral services were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock and at the Immanuel Lutheran church at Marsh Rapids at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. J. Carl Bast officiating, and internment was made in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Busche was born in Germany on October 28th, 1848, and came to Marathon county in 1883. She lived in Unity, Marathon and Mosinee before going to Marsh Rapids in 1899. Then she lived there until she made her home with her daughter at Unity, Wis.
Surviving are two sons, Fred and John Busche of Marsh Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Cornelia) Heucke of Marsh Rapids and Mrs. Herman (Sophie) Riese of Unity; 25 grand children and seven great grand children. Her husband, Henry Busche died on Nov. 12, 1920; a son, Max, died in infancy; another son, Chris, died of influenza while a soldier in World War I; a third son, Henry, died in 1939; a daughter, Martha, died in 1936.
