Mrs. Fred Block died in Minneapolis, Minn., after an illness of several months at the age of 74 years, one month and 17 days. Funeral services were held at the First Evangelical and Reformed church on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. D. Grether officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Will Roth, Walter Loos, Paul Rucks, Henry Forbish, O. W. Sturner and Otto Rannow.
Mrs. Block, daughter of Oliver P. Riley and Lydia Foster Riley, was born in Jackson, Mich., Feb. 23rd, 1870. She was married to Henry B. Davis at Barnsville, Minn., in 1885. He passed away in 1935 at Colby, Wis.
Surviving are her second husband, Fred Block of Minneapolis, three sons, Oliver H. Davis of Colby, James F. Davis of Minneapolis and George Davis; nine grand children; twelve great grand children; one great, great grandchild; two brothers, Ed Riley and Harry Riley, of Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Day of Superior, Wis. One daughter, Luella May Preston, preceded her in death 12 years ago.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Fred Block of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. B. Splett and Mrs. Orville Davis and daughter of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kuehling of Unity, Mrs. H. B. Day of Superior, Wis., and Mrs. Leo L. Lind of St. Paul, Minn.
