Meyer, Catherine (11 Dec. 1864 - 3 June 1944)
Mrs. Catherine Meyer died Saturday morning at the Marshfield hospital, where she had been a patient since March 19th, at the age of 79 years, complications being the cause of her death. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby on Tuesday morning, Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and internment in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Wm. Meyer, Con Orth, Nick Baer, John Schlimm, Walter Schneider and Joe Schuester.
Catherine Schueller was born on Dec. 11, 1864, in the town of Mosel, Sheboygan county, and was married to Henry Meyer, a blacksmith, in November, 1886, at Brillion, Wisconsin. They lived for a time at Brillion and later at Greenleaf. They came to Colby in 1900. Mr. Meyer died in August, 1913.
Mrs. Meyer is survived by two sons, George and Richard of Chicago, a brother, Joseph H. Schueler of Vasalia, Calif.; two grand children and two great grand children. One son, Bernard, died while serving in the armed forces in World War I.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of the Christian Mothers’ Society, a good Christian and was well-liked by all who knew her.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George A. Meyer and Richard Meyer of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Meyer of Rhinelander, Wis.
