Hennlich, Jean (Marriage - 15 Apr. 1944)

Miss Jean Hennlich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hennlich of Curtiss, and George Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Edwards of Owen, exchanged marriage vows at the Congregational church at Curtiss Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, Rev. M. C. Matthews officiating at the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Lee Smiley played the wedding marches and accompanied Mrs. Donald Smiley who sang "Because." Miss Evelyn Hennlich of Milwaukee, Miss Dorthaleen Edwards of Owen, Miss Emily Ann Hennlich of Curtiss, Harlon Witt and Alfred Molle of Unity and Donald Fierke of Dorchester served as attendants.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown made with a snug fitting bodice buttoned down the back, long sleeves ending in points at the wrists and a long skirt ending in a train. Seed pearls outlined the yoke of the frock and fashioned the headdress which held her long veil of illusion, trimmed with lace inserts. Her bouquet consisted of roses, carnations and calla lilies.

Miss Evelyn Hennlich, sister of the bride and maid of honor, wore a yellow dress styled with a jersey bodice and a net over satin skirt with matching accessories. Miss Edwards wore a pink frock with blue accessories and Miss Emily Ann Hennlich was attired in a blue dress with pink accessories. All carried bouquets.

A six o’clock dinner was served immediate relatives at the Hennlich home where candelabra and a wedding cake centered the table and pink, yellow and white streamers decorated the ceiling. A reception for 75 guests followed and in the evening a dance was held at the Curtiss hall.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School, class of 1942, and had been employed in Milwaukee before she accepted her present position in the Curtiss Post Office. Mr. Edwards assists his father with work on the Edwards farm and is employed by the South Green Grove Cheese Co. They are now at home to friends in Curtiss where they will reside.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hennlich of Wausau, Mrs. Emily Merwin, Miss Dorothy Loucks and Miss Joyce Merwin of Abbotsford, Miss Florence Edwards of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smiley of Duluth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Molle and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hardrath of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Smiley of Curtiss, Miss Sally Olson of Colby, Wis., and Miss Carol Fierke of Dorchester, Wis.
