Pederson, Iris (Marriage - 10 June 1944)
Miss Iris Pederson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Pederson of Spencer, and Milton Lenz, son of Mrs. Theodore Lenz of Colby, were united in marriage Saturday, June 10, at the home of the bride’s parents, Rev. Ellery Beal, pastor of the Spencer Methodist church, performing the ceremony. The vows were exchanged in the living room by the double windows which had been decorated by garlands of bridal wreaths and on the sides were baskets of white iris and bouquets of bridal wreaths.
The bride was attired in a floor length dress of white ninon with fitted bodice, full skirt and sweetheart neckline, caught on the sides by clusters of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white gladiolas and sweet peas, wore a finger tip veil edged with lace and caught to her curls by orange blossoms. Miss Arlene Marti of Lansing, Iowa, a cousin of the groom, was the bridesmaid and wore a floor-length dress of blue marquisette and her colonial bouquet consisted of white gladiolas and sweet peas. Her headdress consisted of mixed flowers. Robert Pederson, brother of the groom, was best man. Donna Anderson of Abbotsford was the flower girl and wore a floor length dress of pink net trimmed with bands of pink ribbon. Her colonial bouquet consisted of mixed flowers and she wore mixed flowers in her hair.
After the ceremony, a dinner was served to thirty guests at the home of the bride’s parents. The center of the table was decorated with a three-tier wedding cake, topped by miniature bride and groom and on the sides were bowls of blue iris. The newly wedded couple went on a wedding trip to the north lakes and were at home to their friends after June 15th on a farm near Colby, Wis. The bride had been a rural school teacher the past three years.
Out of town people present at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lenz and Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Lenz and family of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Gay Anderson and family and Carl Anderson of Abbotsford, Miss Arlene Marti and Miss Cylvia Stillman of Lansing, and Mrs. Ted McNamara of Stevens Point.
